1:1 Psychoeducational Sessions

A Different Kind of Session

A Different Kind of Session

A Different Kind of Session

Sometimes you don't need ongoing therapy. You need one conversation that goes somewhere real.

A psychoeducational session is a 75-minute intensive built around one topic — chosen by you and designed by me. Rather than touching the surface of several concerns, we go deep into one. You leave understanding the pattern, knowing why it's there, and holding concrete tools to work with it from that day forward.

These sessions are not therapy-lite. They are intentionally structured, evidence-informed, and built to deliver something complete in a single sitting.

How It Works

A Different Kind of Session

A Different Kind of Session

You choose a topic from a curated list of session themes I've designed based on the emotional and life challenges I see most often. Each session is built around that one theme — giving us the space to slow down, understand the patterns underneath the struggle, and practise tools in real time rather than sending you home with loose ideas to figure out on your own.

Every session draws from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness — weaving together cognitive tools, emotional insight, and nervous system awareness so the process feels integrated rather than scattered.

You are not just talking. You are learning, practising, and leaving with a plan.

Who This Is For

A Different Kind of Session

Who This Is For

This session is a good fit if you are:

  • Seeking clarity or direction around a specific emotional challenge
  • Feeling stuck in overthinking, stress, fear, or confusion
  • Overwhelmed by something specific and unsure how to move forward
  • Looking for grounded support without committing to weekly therapy
  • Ready to learn, practise, and receive real-time guidance in one sitting

You don't need to be in ongoing therapy to benefit. These sessions are designed to stand alone — and if you want to go further, ongoing support is always an option.

AVAILABLE TOPICS

Anxiety 101

Stress, Overwhelm, and Emotional Load

Understanding Panic Attacks

A foundational session for anyone who has been living with anxiety and wants to actually understand it. We will explore what anxiety is, why your brain and body respond the way they do, and how avoidance, overthinking, and safety behaviours quietly keep it going. You will learn CBT and ACT-based tools to interrupt the anxiety cycle, practice grounding techniques in real time, and leave with a clear, structured approach you can apply to everyday moments.

Understanding Panic Attacks

Stress, Overwhelm, and Emotional Load

Understanding Panic Attacks

Panic attacks are terrifying — and they are also explainable and workable. In this session, you will learn exactly what happens in the body during a panic attack, why the symptoms feel so overwhelming, and why fighting them often makes things worse. You will practice somatic regulation tools, learn interoceptive awareness strategies, and build a response plan so that when panic shows up, you have something solid to reach for.

Stress, Overwhelm, and Emotional Load

Stress, Overwhelm, and Emotional Load

Stress, Overwhelm, and Emotional Load

Learn practical stress-reduction strategies you can use in daily life, practice nervous system calming techniques to support regulation, and explore ways to reduce mental and emotional load during high-demand periods.

Sleep Anxiety and Insomnia

Sleep Anxiety and Insomnia

Stress, Overwhelm, and Emotional Load

A focused psychoeducational session that explores how sleep anxiety and insomnia develop and how nighttime thought patterns and emotional responses can keep the body alert. In this session, you will learn practical tools to ease bedtime anxiety, reduce racing thoughts, and build a sense of emotional safety at night, supporting your ability to rest more comfortably.

Managing Flashbacks

Sleep Anxiety and Insomnia

Nightmare Recovery Program

A structured psychoeducational session for anyone experiencing intrusive flashbacks connected to past trauma. In this session, you will learn what is happening in the brain and nervous system during a flashback, why they are triggered, and how to interrupt and ground yourself in the moment. You will leave with a flashback management plan, including anchoring techniques, window of tolerance tools, and strategies to restore a sense of safety and presenceafter an episode.

Nightmare Recovery Program

Sleep Anxiety and Insomnia

Nightmare Recovery Program

A focused 75-minute session built around understanding and reducing trauma-related or chronic nightmares. You will learn why nightmares occur, how stress and nervous system activation keep the sleep cycle disrupted, and how to use evidence-informed tools such as imagery rehearsal and pre-sleep regulation practices to begin shifting your relationship with nighttime distress. You will leave with a concrete recovery plan to begin practicing that same night.

Learning Detachment Without Losing Yourself

Coping with Suicidal Thoughts and Self-Harm Urges

Coping with Suicidal Thoughts and Self-Harm Urges

For anyone who tends to absorb others' emotions, over-function in relationships, or struggle to find where they end and someone else begins. This session explores what emotional detachment actually means (and what it doesn't), how to create healthy distance from situations outside your control, and how to stay connected to yourself while still showing up for others. Drawing from IFS, ACT, and mindfulness, you will leave with tools to practice emotional boundaries from the inside out.

Coping with Suicidal Thoughts and Self-Harm Urges

Coping with Suicidal Thoughts and Self-Harm Urges

Coping with Suicidal Thoughts and Self-Harm Urges

A supportive, structured psychoeducational session for learning ways to navigate intrusive thoughts, urges toward self-harm, and intense emotional distress with compassion. This is not crisis intervention. The session focuses on building grounding skills, urge-surfing and delay strategies, and mental safety tools to support steadiness and connection during difficult moments.

3-SESSION SERIES

A Deeper Dive When One Session Isn't Enough

Some topics deserve more than a single sitting. The 3-Session Series is a focused, structured program built around one theme across three 75-minute sessions. Each session builds on the last, giving you the time to not just understand the pattern but to actually practise shifting it. This is for people who want real change around something specific — and are ready to do the work.

People Pleasing & Boundary Reset

This series is for anyone who has spent years saying yes when they meant no, shrinking to keep the peace, or losing themselves in what other people need. Over three sessions, you will explore the roots of people-pleasing, how it developed, and what it has cost you. You will learn to identify your own needs and values, practise saying no without guilt, and begin building boundaries that are honest, clear, and sustainable — not rigid walls, but genuine expressions of who you are.

Session 1 — Understanding the Pattern

We explore where people-pleasing comes from, how it shows up in your relationships, and what fear, shame, or attachment keeps it in place.

Session 2 — Finding Your Voice

We identify your values, practise assertiveness tools, and begin building language for expressing needs without apology.

Session 3 — Boundary Reset

We map your relationships, identify where limits are needed, and build a personal boundary plan you can take into your life immediately.
