About Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a Registered Psychotherapist who works with children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, identity changes, and major life transitions.

She has a particular strength in supporting people who feel emotionally overwhelmed, guarded, or unsure how to put their experiences into words. Her approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative, creating space to process difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable.

For Children (6+)

Brooklyn supports children who may be:

  • Acting out or shutting down
  • Experiencing anxiety or emotional overwhelm
  • Struggling at school
  • Navigating ADHD or attention-related concerns
  • Having difficulty identifying or expressing emotions
  • Experiencing behavioural or social challenges

She also works collaboratively with caregivers to help them better understand what their child may be experiencing and develop practical ways to support them at home.

For Teens

Brooklyn creates a space where teens can feel heard without judgment, pressure, or feeling like they are being lectured.

She supports teens navigating:

  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Friendship and peer challenges
  • School-related stress
  • Identity and self-esteem concerns
  • Anger and emotional regulation
  • Family conflict
  • Difficult experiences they may not yet feel comfortable talking about

Her approach is flexible and relatable, with therapy shaped around the individual teen rather than a one-size-fits-all process.

For Adults & Families

Brooklyn provides compassionate, practical support for adults and families experiencing:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Burnout and emotional overwhelm
  • Major life transitions
  • Family stress and communication difficulties
  • Parent-child relationship concerns
  • Changes in identity, roles, or relationships

She works collaboratively and at your pace, with respect for where you are in the process.

New to Therapy?

You do not need to know exactly what you want to work on before starting therapy.

Brooklyn helps make the process feel approachable and comfortable, giving you space to understand what has been weighing on you and explore what support may be most helpful.

How Brooklyn Works

Brooklyn’s approach is developmentally informed, trauma-aware, and collaborative. She adapts therapy to who you are, where you are in the process, and what feels most helpful and meaningful to you.

She draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) — building practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and coping
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — developing values-based coping skills and moving forward with greater intention
  • Person-Centred Therapy — creating a supportive, validating, and collaborative therapeutic space

For Children & Youth

For younger clients, Brooklyn incorporates art-based and play-based approaches into therapy when appropriate.

These methods can help children and youth:

  • Express emotions that may be difficult to put into words
  • Explore experiences in an age-appropriate way
  • Develop emotional awareness and coping skills
  • Build confidence and communication
  • Feel more comfortable and engaged in the therapy process

Activities are introduced naturally and adapted to each child’s developmental needs, interests, and comfort level.
