All sessions include dedicated direct client time, with the remaining time reserved for notes, care planning, and record-keeping to support the quality and continuity of your care.
A free consultation is required before your first session. This is a brief introductory call where you can connect with your therapist, ask questions, and discuss your goals so that when you arrive for your first session, the focus is entirely on you and your care.
Each partner completes an individual intake session before beginning joint therapy. This allows your therapist to understand each person's perspective privately before you come together. Both partners must create individual profiles.
Each family member must create an individual client profile and complete intake forms before the first session. Please link all related profiles to ensure coordinated care. Privacy and informed consent are maintained individually for each family member.
Your session time is reserved especially for you, and we understand that unexpected things can come up. We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Appointments changed or missed within 48 hours are billed at the full session rate, as this time is set aside just for you and cannot usually be filled on short notice. For clarity and to ensure your request is received, please email your therapist directly, as this is the only accepted method of communication for reschedule or cancellation requests.

Direct billing allows us to submit your insurance claim directly to your provider at the time of your session, so you do not have to submit receipts manually. Whether a claim is approved depends on your individual plan and provider.
Please note that not all insurance providers are supported through the TELUS eClaims system, and coverage varies by plan.
Direct billing is currently beginning for Simar’s clients. Our Insightful Journey associates are in the process of completing their individual billing authorizations and will also begin offering direct billing once their approvals are finalized.
Clients are encouraged to log into their Insightful Journey client portal and add their insurance information to their profile before their next session.
If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your insurance details to your appointment and we can assist you at that time. Please note that if this is done during a session, a portion of your appointment time may be used to complete the process.
A credit card on file is still required for all client accounts.
This supports situations where:
If direct billing is not available or a claim is declined, the card on file may be used to process the session fee. You will still receive a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement when applicable.
