Simar Gill Lowther, Registered Psychotherapist
Hi, I'm Simar!
I'm a licensed psychotherapist who’s passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with empathy and a holistic approach. With dual Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology and additional training in Mental Health and Addictions, I bring a well-rounded perspective to therapy.
I work with individuals and couples, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique journey. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, trauma, or major life changes, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can heal, grow, and thrive. Therapy isn’t just about overcoming difficulties—it’s about building a life that feels fulfilling and aligned with who you are.
If you're ready to take that step, I’d love to support you on your journey.
At Insightful Journey, I keep it simple yet deeply impactful: empathy is at the heart of everything I do. Therapy isn’t just about conversation—it’s about truly understanding your story, your experiences, and what matters most to you.
I go beyond surface-level dialogue to explore the nuances of your thoughts, emotions, and aspirations. This depth of understanding allows me to offer more than just guidance—I provide insights and strategies that are tailored specifically to your unique journey.
Empathy is the foundation of our work together, creating a space where trust, connection, and meaningful growth can thrive. Through this collaborative process, we don’t just talk—we uncover, heal, and move forward in a way that aligns with who you are.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, seamlessly drawing from different modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. I believe in blending various approaches to create a personalized and comprehensive path to healing.
In our sessions, I cultivate a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences freely. I often use metaphors and analogies to simplify complex ideas, making them more relatable and easier to grasp. These storytelling tools provide powerful insights, helping you gain clarity and a fresh perspective on your challenges.
Beyond insight, I offer practical tools and techniques that you can apply in daily life—helping you navigate obstacles with confidence and resilience.
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. I integrate a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support you in meaningful and lasting change. Through a compassionate and personalized approach, Insightful Journey with Simar offers a space to explore, heal, and grow at your own pace.

Frontline workers, veterans, and refugees each play a vital role in our communities, often facing significant challenges that can impact their mental and emotional well-being. As frontline workers, you are on the front lines of care and support, dedicating yourselves to the health and safety of others, often under immense pressure. Veterans bring valuable experiences and sacrifices, yet they may grapple with the lasting effects of their service. Refugees, seeking safety and a new beginning, often carry the weight of trauma and uncertainty.
Together, these groups form a tapestry of resilience and strength, yet the emotional toll can be profound. It’s essential to recognize that seeking support is not a sign of weakness but a crucial step toward healing. At Insightful Journey, I am here to provide a compassionate space where you can share your experiences, process your feelings, and cultivate the resilience needed to thrive in your roles. Your well-being matters, and together, we can work toward a healthier, more balanced future for you and the communities you serve.
Direct billing is offered for Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC).
